About Us

History of East Allen EMS

The East Allen Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps, also referred to as East Allen EMS, was founded in September 1979.

Where we started

Originally housed with the township’s fire department, East Allen EMS purchased property to build its own facility. After acquiring the former site of the historical Craig House in 1984 in a property transfer by the state, construction began in 1985 of the building that still houses East Allen EMS.

The very first ambulance was purchased for just over $35,500 and was dedicated on December 2, 1979, in a ceremony at the East Allen Township Volunteer Fire Company. It was officially put into service on January 1, 1980.

Recent years

In the years that followed, East Allen EMS has continued to serve East Allen Township and the surrounding community with high quality patient care.
